Puppy Training

One-to-one puppies up to 5 months (6 sessions package)

  • This environment allows unvaccinated puppies to start training as early as possible because 5-12 weeks of age is the most powerful learning time in your dogs' life. Starting early is also important to prevent bad habits from developing.

  • We will do exercises both at home and outside to ensure your puppy is learning adequately without and with distractions. I will assist you with support on toilet training, crate/pen training, general 'Raising a Socially Competent Dog' exercises and troubleshooting. You will receive a PP presentation and a weekly task based on detailed training plan with the set of exercises to prepare prior to the first session and the link to training videos for visual learners.

  • Apart from one-to-one training, you will receive follow-up tasks to do and play with your puppy so he/she can learn effectively. There is also regular voice message support offered. I look into family context, puppy breed and individual characteristics to adapt training techniques.

  • There are 6 sessions in the course but you can decide how many follow-up sessions you need.

  • Follow-up sessions are 45 min long to cater for puppies' attention span.

  • Some of the exercises addressed in my training are effective recall, walk on a loose lead, drop, touch, sit, down/settle, stand, stay, wait, heel, addressing needs and much more.

  • I also give advice on creating safe and enriching environment for your pet's wellbeing and how to bond so your pet is focused on you yet not insecurely attached.
  • The time, frequency and session structure are adapted to your lifestyle and your family needs

Adolescent Training

      One-to-one adolescent puppies

  • Puppies generally reach adolescence at around six months and the phase lasts until they’re around 12–18 months.

  • Some dogs may become wayward or anxious while others show not much change in their behaviour. This is only a temporary stage and the best way to experience it is to be patient and continue with consistent training.

  • The most common issues in adolescent puppies are loss of recall, destructiveness, anxious reactions, other animal chasing or inappropriate interaction with other dogs. These can be addressed by using variable techniques and rewards your dog values to stimulate motivation and create exercise as fun time.

  • I will speak to you over a phone, email you a training questionnaire to obtain as much information on your dog as possible.

  • You will be contacted within a week after our first session to check on your progress, needs for training adaptations and ensure training consistency is preserved.

  • There are 4 sessions in the course but follow up-sessions are strongly recommended to monitor adolescent puppy progress and build his/her confidence again. This training should make you the centre of their world again.

  • I will email you a detailed training programme with a set of homework exercises, supported by short videos, to do before our first one-to-one session. It will consider your dog's breed, learning history, context, environment and training steps. This would help to condition your dog in a quiet environment so you and your dog should feel more comfortable during the training session.

Heelwork To Music- GOLD

This fun sport is taking the dog sport world by storm and has been recognised by The Kennel Club in the UK within the past 24 years and has been included in the Crufts Dog Show for the past 12 where competitors choreograph routines with their own choice of music of up to four minutes and perform these with their dog. Handlers of any age can participate and with any type a dog, there are no compulsory moves required to be performed in competition, which leaves scope to introduce moves which interpret the music in the best possible way. There’s no such thing as the ideal breed for heelwork to music, but it’s recommended that your dog has good recall and is well socialised before you join as heelwork to music happens off-lead. The more experience they have in performing a variety of obedience exercises the better their chances are at achieving success. No special equipment is necessary although props are allowed to enhance the routine and for incorporating into the performance. Its content enables you and your dog to develop more advanced skills and routines with choreography of your choice. Handlers of any age can participate and with any type a dog, there are no compulsory moves required to be performed in competition, which leaves scope to introduce moves which interpret the music in the best possible way.

What makes a successful heelwork to music routine?

There are two main criteria for a successful heelwork to music routine: the dog’s precise execution and content. Spending time with your dog while moving around to upbeat music is always a guaranteed mood lifter and this is the perfect way to help make obedience training fun for both of you. A strong bond between and your dog is the foundation of HTM. Freestyle gives handlers freedom to interpret the music in whatever way they feel as long as what they are doing is safe for the dog and suitable for a family audience.

Trick Training

Tricks are suitable for dogs of all ages, offering mental stimulation, especially when physical exercise is restricted for young or senior dogs. They can also entertain dogs with limited physical activity due to injury. Additionally, trick training can be beneficial for dogs experiencing reactivity and stress, providing an alternative to walks where they may encounter triggers, allowing them to decompress. Engaging in trick training with your dog encourages them to problem-solve and exhibit various behaviors which may help to increase the focus and limit frustration. It can be used to build our dogs confidence, teach them to be calmer and more thoughtful. While teaching tricks, we can develop our training skills focusing on timing, reward delivery and frequency which can help us if we want to work on behaviour modification or sports training. Therefore, learning new skills and investing some time in teaching your dog a few tricks can be immensely rewarding.
